Heartsaver CPR/AED

Heartsaver First Aid

This is a CPR and AED course for healthcare professionals. It will cover 1 and 2 person Adult, Child and Infant CPR, use of an AED (defibrillator) on both a child and adult, choking (heimlich maneuver) for infants, children and adults, airway obstruction, bag valve mask and how to use a breathing barrier or pocket mask. 

 

Who Should Take This Course: Nurses, law enforcement and EMS personnel, EMT, fire fighters, athletic trainers, dentists, CNA, business and industry response teams, lifeguards, flight attendants, and others who must take action in emergency situations.

Certification: 2 year American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification card given with a passing score on a 25 question written exam.

BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS

AHA’s course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training. Students learn how to:• Protect themselves from exposure to bloodborne pathogens • Act when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace• Clean themselves and the area when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace • Tell or report any exposure to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace

Who should take this course:

This course is designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as: • Correctional Officers• Childcare workers• Security guards• Maintenance workers• School personnel• Hotel housekeepers• Health and fitness club staff • Tattoo artists

Certification: The Heartsaver BBP Course is designed to meet OSHA requirements when paired with sitespecific BBP training.

This is the Heartsaver CPR and AED Class (this course is NOT for healthcare professionals). You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of a Stroke, Heart Attack, and how to do Layperson CPR (for adults, children, and infants), heimlich maneuver (choking), compression only cpr and rescue breathing. In addition, you will learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Who Should Take This Course: Childcare providers, daycare centers, teachers, coaches, personal trainers, after care workers, security officers, construction workers, counselors and anyone who wants to save a life.

Certification: 2 year AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED Card

The First Aid course provides skills in first aid emergencies such as bleeding, allergic reactions, use of epi pen, heat illness, sprains, strains, glove use and removal, burns, seizures, and fractures along with accident prevention.
